Our Mission

We believe that understanding the names and foundations of yoga poses and breathing techniques deepens your practice. Many practitioners can do the poses but struggle to remember what they're called — especially the Sanskrit names. yoga-bits bridges that gap through interactive learning.

How It Works

The yoga-bits quiz shows you a yoga pose and challenges you to identify it by name. You can practice with all 68 poses or filter by difficulty level — beginner, intermediate, or advanced — and by category such as standing, seated, backbends, inversions, and restorative poses. We also offer a dedicated breathing quiz covering 30 pranayama techniques with an animated breathing guide for guided practice.

Expertise & Accuracy

Every pose and breathing technique in our library includes verified Sanskrit names and pronunciations cross-referenced with authoritative sources including traditional Hatha Yoga and pranayama texts. Step-by-step instructions are written to be accessible for beginners while remaining precise enough for experienced practitioners.

Our content development process includes research from peer-reviewed sources on yoga's physical benefits, including studies published by the National Institutes of Health and the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health. Content is regularly reviewed and updated to reflect current best practices.

How We Create Content

Each yoga pose and breathing technique guide follows a consistent editorial process: Sanskrit names and pronunciations are verified against multiple traditional sources, step-by-step instructions are tested for clarity and accuracy, and health-related claims are supported by published research. We prioritize safety by including level classifications and noting when poses or techniques require prior experience.

Our blog articles are researched, written, and reviewed with the same standards. When we reference health benefits, we link to the underlying studies or authoritative medical sources so readers can verify claims independently.
